Follow these four easy steps to save time and tears the next time you chop an onion
Step 1: Peel Back the Skin
Use a sharp knife to cut through the stem end of the onion and peel back the papery skin.
Step 2: Remove Root End and Cut Layers
Remove the root end to create an even base. Place the peeled onion on the cut root end. Make several parallel vertical cuts through the onion layers.
Step 3: Rotate Onion and Cut
Rotate the onion 90° and make several parallel vertical cuts.
Step 4: Produce Chopped Pieces
Cut across the grain to make chopped pieces.
