Cook fall-off-the-bone, melt-in-your-mouth short ribs in just four simple steps.
Braised Short Ribs
Recipe: Braised Short Ribs
These short ribs have been braised in a drool-worthy combination of diced onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Your entire family is guranteed to be asking for these again and again.
Step 1: Dredge Ribs in Flour Mixture
Place seasoned flour mixture in a shallow dish. Dredge ribs in mixture, and shake off excess. The flour creates a protective crust for the meat and will help to thicken the pan sauce.
Step 2: Brown Ribs in Dutch Oven
Brown the ribs, in batches, in a Dutch oven. Remove ribs, and reserve the drippings in the skillet. These "brown bits" are high in flavor and will be deglazed once liquid is added.
Step 3: Add Veggies and Sauté
Add salt and vegetables to Dutch oven, and sauté until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients, except garnish.
Step 4: Return to Dutch Oven
Return ribs to Dutch oven. Cover and simmer until tender (the meat will start to fall off the bone).
